Chark are three young illustrators – Andrea Popyordanova, Victoria Staykova and Mila Yaneva, united by their common interest in handmade books. Their work is a real pleasure for multiple views and a unique feeling of freedom they create through drawings, color selection, lines and fonts. They use different techniques – from inks and pencils to screen printing, collages and digital media. They are excited about socially engaging projects embracing a wide range of target groups, widening the scope and techniques of illustration, and visual communication as a response to a concrete problem. They are also engaged in the development of the TI-RE platform for independent editions of Bulgarian artists.
Mila Yaneva (1991) has a Master degree in Visual Arts, Illustration and Graphic Storytelling, LUCA School of Arts, Brussels, Belgium, Bachelor degree in Book and printed graphics, National Academy of Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria, Erasmus, Illustration, LUCA School of Arts , Gent, Belgium.
