Gergana Stankova / Shevitza
In the design circles Gergana Stankova is known as Shevitza, which is in fact the name of her brand for alternative Bulgarian souvenirs that originates from the depths of folklore, but interpreted in a contemporary way. Gergana takes the folk motives of the typical embroidery out of their capsules, standing behind the idea that the cultural heritage is alive and we should not be afraid to touch it and change it. And wear it. Her printed scarves and jewelry are made up of simple geometric shapes that play in a magical rhythm. Prior to discovering her passion, she worked as an art director for several large corporations.
Gergana Stankova was born in Varna, 1983. She has a BA degree in English and American Studies from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski “, a BA degree in Graphic Design from Prague College, Prague and a Master Degree in Advertising Management from the New Bulgarian University.
DESIGN IS: a beautiful system.
