Raya Stefanova was born in 1990 in Kazanlak. Shortly after graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2014, she returned to Bulgaria and in 2015 was invited to take up the role of Art Director of One Design Week 2016. She works independently since 2017 and has the opportunity to explore the contemporary design as a discipline from different perspectives — from objects and spaces to design as a form of organization of educational and social initiatives.

Her life gravitates around her child and happens between Sofia and Kazanlak.
