GAMELIKE explores the LEGO brick as something far removed from the logic of rapid production and mass consumption. Instead, it is approached as a familiar object—an essential element of childhood imagination and play. Through the medium of printmaking, Mishe lends this seemingly ordinary subject an unexpected gravity, assembling it from countless scattered fragments. Across the surface, each individual element follows its own internal geometry rather than the boundaries of the sheet, occupying a precise position within a carefully orchestrated composition of apparent disorder.
In etching, the original exists as a matrix from which the inked impression is transferred onto paper. Play, on the other hand, has no original—only rules. It is in the act of following, testing, and reinventing those rules that genuine effort resides, and where moments of truth unexpectedly emerge, much like in play itself.
