[EM-POU-ER] is an excerpt from a possible series based on women’s rights and feminist movements in Latin America. Each issue of the journal will address a specific topic related to women’s rights and a selected country/region where there are issues related to the topic addressed. Areas related to how women in the past and still today participate in movements for rights and equality are explored. Some accounts are first-hand accounts from women who have been part of such movements. The journal looks at how the internet plays a major role in revolutions today. How a video going viral can have a big impact on a situation and be a great tool to spread the message.

 

The title of the magazine is the transcription of the word EMPOWER- [em-pou-er]. In reference to how women fight for their rights. They have to say it out loud for it to happen. Therefore, the title may not make sense at first glance, but once you say it out loud, it becomes clear what you are talking about.
