Aideen McCole manages and curates the 100 Archive, a platform for design in Ireland since 2012. A graduate of the Curating Contemporary Design MA at Kingston University and the Design Museum, London, she has worked with organisations such as the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Irish Architecture Foundation. She was a founding director of POST Design Festival, Copenhagen's festival which interrogates the social, political and ethical facets of visual communication practice. The core activity of 100 Archive is the publication of 100 notable projects in communication design (graphic, editorial, type, brand, digital, motion…) selected through an annual open call. The 100 Archive publishes articles, produces events and delivers projects that interrogate design’s impact on the world. They partner with designers, professional bodies, government agencies and national institutions to reinforce the importance of design in life, society, business and culture and to build engaged audiences for design in Ireland. In 2020 the 100 Archive launched Map Irish Design, a major research and communication project, reflecting how business and social movements have shaped Ireland in the past decade through creative and cultural processes and phenomenon.
