Creative Mornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series for the creative community, launched back in 2008 in New York and running in Sofia since 2016. Every month, the CreativeMornings community gathers in 224 cities across 67 countries, for free. The concept is pretty simple - breakfast and a short lecture on a specific and globally implemented theme, once a month, fuelling creativity and imagination into the day.

MELBA festival is happy to organize and welcome a very special edition of CreativeMornings Sofia. For the first time our local chapter is the author of the monthly theme - both as a concept, and as a visual execution, the latter by the multi talented artist Sevda Semer. We will be expecting you for a wonderful start of the day with a talk and presentation by Sevda Semer and her creative work.

The theme for November is Liminal - a Latin word that means Threshold. The term describes the state of ambiguity or disorientation that occurs in the middle stage of a transition. Undoubtedly, we live in a time when many of our existing models have disintegrated, but in their place there are still no clearly defined new ways. And yes, It makes us feel anxious, but it is also a great opportunity to create and grow. So what is the design of our future? How do we arrange the pieces to form a new idea of the world around us? How can we design and create the future phase of our lives in these threshold times?
