“Being an artist is my favourite role. A lot of people know me as a mother of a teenager, an amateur botanist and a surfist”, says Mila. She works in the field of illustration and poster design and her goal has always been to push the boundaries of creativity and create a bigger impact with her work. Her permanent job is the advertising agency McCann Sofia. Mila Lozanova has studied advertising design at the National Art Academy in Sofia, where she is also doing a PhD in art history and applied arts. She is constantly collaborating with talented people from various creative collectives and non-profit organisations on a variety of projects. Additionally, Mila is working as an illustrator and graphiс designer for three Bulgarian publishing houses. With one of them she has had the opportunity to enter the European book publishing market, when the book “The Fairy from the Sugarbowl” was distributed in Germany, Romania, Austria, and Switzerland. Another professional field of work she delves in is the poster. She has won two awards at the International Triennial of Stage Poster. Mila also participates in projects related to scenography and puppet making as a set designer. In the autumn of 2021, she boldly entered into a much bigger artistic scale by drawing a mural on a big wall in the centre of Sofia. The project called Art for Air would be one of the focuses of her presentation for the audience of Melba.

Melba Symposium presents Mila Lozanova as a speaker thanks to the kind support of Philip Morris Bulgaria.
