ETIKA is made from single pieces of natural yarns left and found in second-hand shops or online, designed by Nadezhda Sucheva and executed by experienced grandmothers-knitters. The brand is an expression of Nadezhda 's love for fabric, colors and shapes, along with the desire for uniqueness, truth and sustainability. It is also a way of self-expression.
Anyone who likes sweaters and who can appreciate the creativity and work behind their items. ETIKA’s fashion is a statement for authenticity and uniqueness, for quality, handmade in an ethical way, with a sustainable attitude towards fashion.
First Nadezhda and Sara find the yarns in various places - from OLX to the provincial yarn shops. They are always looking for at least 50% natural composition (mohair, wool, cotton). Nadezhda invents the models and draws them on an architectural software in accurate and easy-to-read schemes, calculating how much yarn of which type will be used to make the sweater. The finished schemes are plotted on a scale of 1: 2, after which they are taken to grandmother Tanya from Batak and grandmother Elena from Blagoevgrad. Each sweater is a small experimentation coming in its own size and as the baba has "felt" it, as each has her own way of knitting.
Nadezhda wants to create bold and unique items by reusing, recombining and recomposing materials. ETIKA is just the beginning of something bigger, sustainable and meaningful.
The minimum time required for the making of 1 sweater is 1 week. On average - about 10-14 days. With the proper maintenance - hand wash at 30 degrees with appropriate detergents - the life of the sweater is very long. A sweater with a predominantly natural wool or mohair composition can live as long as a person.
Sweaters are created between Sofia, Blagoevgrad and Batak. From November 1, they will be on sale online at wndrwool.com. For direct contact:
