Inspired by carpet weaving traditions, various other production techniques and textile home decorations, coupled with my fascination with the do-it-yourself ideology, I decided to dedicate myself to the creation of carpets. Carpet weaving is an art with a century-long history. In a way weaving, embroidery and needlework preserve a specific energy, coming specifically from the labor-intensive production process, characterized by a meditative state of mind and hard physical work. For my carpet I make use of the contemporary techniques in the field, which shorten the working process significantly. This working method breaks the existing tradition and opens a wide field for experiments. When hung on the wall, the carpet adds texture, cosyness and identity to every space. Additionally, the carpets offer heat and sound insulation.

My carpets are with my own design, they are handcrafted and unique. I still research and test different fabrics, in order to find the most suitable for the basis, on which I attach the yarn threads with a special pistol. Most often I use acrylic yarn, because they are widespread in Bulgaria and one can find them in a rich colour palette. After finishing crafting with the yarn, I seal the back of the carpet with glue and add fabric.

The final touches are the adjustments of the carpet face. Like every art piece the carpets made by me go with an authenticity certificate and with a blockchain registration.

It depends on the size and the complexity of the image, in practise the crafting of a carpet can take from eight hours to one week. Properly maintained and stored, a carpet's life is comparable to the one of an art piece made on paper or canvas.

My carpets can be seen on my pages in social media and very soon on the Blood Becomes Water page. I work also on carpets with preorder and with personalised design from the client.
